DAY 2- CLIFF OF MOHER

Salam...bersua kembali.

Hari ni seperti yang dirancang,itinerary kami adalah untuk melawat Cliff of Moher..memang tak lengkap kunjungan ke Republik Ireland,tanpa melawat CoM.Perjalanan dari Dublin ke CoM mengambil masa 3 jam lebih..

Sebelum tu...sedikit info...Ada 32 counties (daerah) di Kepulauan Ireland,di mana 6 counties berada di Northern Ireland...selebihnya di Republic of Ireland.

Cliff of Moher & Fanore (tempat penginapan airbnb kami) terletak di Clare county.

Pagi ni,kami bertiga (abah,mama & abang) naik bas ke Dublin Airport untuk pick up kereta sewa.

dah settled kat Malaysia lagi 

Opel Zafira,7 seater MPV..for 6 of us,plus luggage.

Selesai urusan documentation,kami balik ke rumah untuk pick up the girls...seterusnya bertolak ke Cliff of Moher.

Sebenarnya,cara yang paling popular & mudah ke Cliff of Moher adalah dengan joining bus tour dari Dublin ke CoM.... ada option for  a day trip or 2 days trip (tak sure bermalam kat mana...boleh google).For us,kami pilih untuk drive sendiri..free n easy...dan kami plan untuk bermalam di Fanore.

Ada 2 routes ke CoM dari Dublin...faster route melalui M6 sejauh 266km...another route melalui M7 sejauh 299km.Kami pilih route yang kedua sebab katanya lebih scenic...dan boleh singgah kat Bunratty Castle sekali.

Info;Tol di Ireland

There are 11 toll roads in the Republic of Irelands..10 daripadanya,ada toll plaza...where u can pay (via cash or credit) then n there.

The M50...adalah satu-satunya tol yang anda tak perlu berhenti...
M50 tol ni menggunakan amazing video & sensor capture system to take note of your registration number.Kita boleh bayar kat mana-mana designated payzone outlets accross the country (biasanya kat petrol station lah..)..atau pun bayar online.Kena bayar sebelum 8.00 malam keesokan harinya...kalau tak bayar,kena penalty...so,be attentive & alert!Jangan buat dek..

View sepanjang perjalanan..reminded us of NZ...rindu pulak..tiberr..

Stop kat Bunratty Castle...
Ireland & castle..berpisah tiada..wajib visit one of the castles if u come to Ireland

Tapi setelah kita dapatkan pandangan ahli-ahli mesyuarat,nampaknya masing-masing tak mau masuk ke Bunratty Castle.Satu sebab entrance fee yang mahal & tak berbaloi for this frugal family..hu hu..(€82 far all of us)...dan satu lagi...sebab masing-masing dah kelaparan!

So...kita stop untuk lunch..

Nampak ada port baek punya untuk berpiknik..

Liscannor village

Dough Castle (Irish: Dumhach Ui Chonchuir – "sandbank of the O'Connors") is a ruined tower house at Lahinch in County Clare 

Singgah jap kat Liscannor Harbour...kat sini ada cruise to view Cliff of Moher from different angle.Ada cruise ke  Aran Islands too (Arans is a group of 3 islands located at the mouth of  Galway Bay).We had once considered going to Aran Islands...instead of London.

Dari Liscannor Harbour ke Cliff of Moher hanya 6 km..nampak 1 kawasan lapang...tu lah tempat parking berbayar.

Ada motorhome jugak rupanya

Tiket untuk parking adalah €8/pax (dewasa), €6/pax untuk student & kanak-kanak 16 tahun ke bawah FOC

Parking dikira dengan jumlah penumpang (plus driver) dalam kenderaan...bukan kira per kenderaan.

Then...we noticed ada few cars yang parking di tepi2 jalan...ni tak payah bayar tiket la kot

Takde sape check ticket pun...(we shud have dropped the kids first before parking...wink!)

Kat cliff belakang tu lah...tempat shooting  music video kump Westlife & filem Harry Potter;The Half Blood Prince

Pada tahun 1835 O' Brien's Tower dibina sebagai observation lookout .

Entry to O’Brien’s Tower is €2 for adults and €1 for children.

The view from this tower is so panoramic!

Selepas 1 jam setengah di CoM,hujan pun mula turun...kami bergerak ke  penginapan airbnb kami di Fanore...lokasinya agak terpencil....dan jauh juga,kira-kira 25km dari CoM.

Fermoyle Farmhouse,Fanore

Biarpun lokasi penginapan ni terasa sangat jauh...dengan jalan kecil yang berliku-liku..tapi,sangat-sangat berbaloi.Pengalaman menginap di sini akan tetap menjadi memori manis yang tak kan terlupakan sepanjang hayat kami..

Malamnya..setelah menikmati dinner....kami tidur dengan lena sekali...dek kerana kepenatan berjalan..ditambah pula dengan kehangatan wood burning fireplace..he he
